Breaking Free!

So now that the roads are safer.... I am able to go places! Yesterday we went to church, which was really nice! Then today we went to Fred Meyers and Safeway... and even though they aren't the most exciting places... we're actually able to go somewhere!! :) It's great to be able to go places! I'm also making plans with my friends for New Years... because no one wants to stay home this year... or go to the stake dance.. so we're going to plan something else to do! :) I'm so happy the snow is melting!!!

Crossing my fingers

So today we helped shovel snow at the church so that hopefully we can have church tomorrow. We also shoveled snow out in front of our house so that we can make it in and out of our driveway no problem. So I'm kind of worn out from shoveling.... so I'm crossing my fingers that everyone's work wasn't wasted and that we'll have church tomorrow! (for the first time in 3 weeks!)

Christmas

Well Christmas Eve Uncle Sid, Aunt Connie, and Sydney came over for dinner. It was a lot of fun... a little frustrating though cause the power kept bumping... but it was still fun to see them... and dinner was really good! and we didn't get to bed till almost midnight.
Christmas morning Tayler woke us all up at 4 in the morning. :( But the day got better! :) lol. So from my Grandma Young I got a quilt! :) (and being completely honest I actually opened that one about a week ago! :) and a good thing too cause it's been on my bed everynight helping me stay warm!). Then from Jackie I got PJ's!! and they're really cute and COMFORTABLE!!!! I'm actually wearing some right now :). Then from my parents I got 2 books! So I now own the whole Gemma Doyle Trilogy :)!! I didn't think they would actually get them for all the fuss about me asking for books! From "Santa" I got $50 :) (I really didn't ask for anything for Christmas... I didn't know what I wanted... so I made his job this year much harder :) lol). Then we all went to see Bedtime Stories... and it's a really good movie.. it was funny and suprisingly clean.... so if you get the chance you should see it!
So that was my Christmas.. it was a lot of fun!

2 more days till Christmas!

Well there's just 2 more days till Christmas!! And I have no clue what my presents are... so this is the first Christmas that I have no clue as to what is under the tree for me. So I'm looking forward to Christmas... and the warm front coming Friday! :) Right now it's 30 degrees... and the icicles have been melting all day today... It's warmer than it was supposed to be today... and it hasn't snowed like it's supposed to either! :) I'm really happy... we will still have a white christmas... but afterwards it will be gone hopefully! :) So I'm in a good mood looking forward to the snow going away and Christmas! :)

Sore!!!

Well since we aren't going to school.... I decided to do little work outs since I'm missing weight training and don't want to gain weight over winter break (I've lost weight!!! :) YAY!!). Let me just say that working out because I'm bored is not a good idea. Because once I start.... I do more and OWWW!!! It also doesn't help that my family and friends keep making me laugh while my stomach really hurts from numerous crunches on our body ball. But at least it's doing something for me! :)

White Christmas

Well.... we're up to 7 inches of snow. It snowed all day.... it was really pretty... everything looks nice now. I'm just happy our heat works! :) Karen's heat wasn't working for the majority of the day today. As you can imagine she was a little upset, but luckily they had space heaters.... and they have now gotten it fixed. Anyways these are some pics my dad took.

They're from the back "porch". And here is a close up of the ruler.
So it's been cold!!! Today however was warmer than it's been all week... I think it got up to 34 degrees....... no school tomorrow.

Snow Days

Well.... today we didn't have school... too much snow.... and it's icy. The only good thing about today is that I wrote my 4 pg. research paper this morning.... it's due Wednesday. However school has been canceled again for tomorrow.... and then it's supposed to snow Wednesday and I think Thursday or Friday also...... then we have 2 weeks off for Winter Break.......................................... :( so I guess tomorrow I'll do whatever problems I didn't do in math class...... then double check to see if I have anything else do.... just in case (crossing my fingers that we at least have one day of school.... or 2 this week). So..... I'll probably be blogging a lot the next...... 3 weeks.......... sigh......

It's snowing :(

Do you see that snow sticking to the road??? We're supposed to get about 4 inches today.... we're waiting around to see if they cancel church today.... and then if it's still here tomorrow, school will be canceled. :( The temperature is dropping, and the flakes are getting bigger so that will mean that probably both will happen. :( sigh...... I just hope it doesn't freeze tonight.....

So this morning I went out to take some pictures... I'm not happy that it's snowing but it looks pretty.
Emma decided to see how well the snow compacted for a snow ball.... It's pretty dry and powdery.

Here you can kind of see the snow falling.

Some leaves on our driveway... thought they looked pretty cool, mom thought that with all the leaves on our lawn and driveway made everything look bad... I think it made it look better.

So even though I'm upset about the snow.... as you can tell.... the rest of my siblings, especially Tayler... are extremely happy about the snow and the chances that school will be canceled.

Drama, Drama, Drama

Well, I'm busy, yet again! This time it's because of plays. Right now we are doing a play called "Anatomy of Gray". It's a really good play, funny and sad. I'm having a lot of fun doing it. Monday and Tuesday are our last days. Then we have Thanksgiving Break!!!! YAY!! Then after this play ends our Drama Teacher is holding try outs for our "Winter Musical", normally it's a "Spring Musical", but she's trying to avoid clashing with senior projects. This year for our musical we are doing "Oliver"! It's going to be a lot of fun.... but there will be days that I'm at the school from 7a.m. to 11 or 12p.m.:( oh well it will be a lot of fun! It always is. Besides the sleep deprivation and having the songs stuck in your head for a year! :) lol. I'll have to take a picture of the light board sometime so that you all know where I'll be disappearing to for a couple of weeks.... a month.... idk... a while! :)

Football

So football is over and I now have some pics! They didn't turn out the greatest when I scanned them. I cleaned them up a little but they are copies of the actual pictures. We all pitched in a little bit of money and one of the managers took them home and made copies. So they didn't turn out the greatest when I scanned them.... but at least I get to show you! :)
So here are some of the managers. There was one more, and Karen is a student trainer. But we wanted a picture of all the girls, so we got one! It just so happened that they decided to take pictures on a hot day, and boy let me tell you, those jerseys are heavier than they look so they were HOT!!! Not the best thing when it's muggy and sunny.... I'm just happy though that I wasn't wearing one of the black jerseys! :)

And here are my boys! (at least the varsity and some JV ones) And the coaches. Football was a lot of fun! I'm happy that I did it this year, but I'm also happy that it's over! I meat a lot of great guys and now have great new friends. I still see all of them ALL THE TIME!! so it's almost like it never ended. lol This was the last season for all of the football coaches on the team, next year the boys get all new coaches. I hope it goes better for them next season than it did this season.

Homecoming

So as you know (if you read my moms blog) I went to homecoming with some of my friends this year. I had a lot of fun and I am happy that I went. We lost our homecoming game by a touch down or two. I can't remember exactly, I think it was only one that they made in the last minute or so of the game. (It was really sad :( the guys were not happy) So our season was not the best this year. But the dance was fun! :) (note: the pictures are backwards, but I don't want to redo them :) )

So my friend Karen asked the guy in the picture above (Mike) to go to homecoming with her.... but it wasn't a date, and it's really complicated so I'm not going to explain it! :) So the above picture was taken when we went to his house after the dance for ice cream and to hang out and his sister(in above pic with him) got home just before we left so we took pictures!
So we decided to go with a group of Mikes friends and we agreed because Karen and I are friends with at least one of the couples in the group (the girl in the polka dot dress). She is one of the football managers also and we became very good friends with her. We went to eat at The Old Spaghetti Factory. It was really good and we had a great time. Then we headed off to the dance!

Me, Mike, and Karen.

Karen and I at Karen's house before we went to meat the group.

And here I am! I really liked my dress! Thank you Ross! I found my shoes and dress there. Then went to Fred Meyers to get my jewelry and a friend in the ward sewed my jacket (darn strapless dresses!). I was really happy how it all turned out!

B-U-S-Y

WOW!!! It's been a long time since the last time I've blogged! I have been very busy and am not home very much anymore. I'm the football manager and am at football practices everyday! I also have games on Thursday (normally Freshman games which don't go very late, but a couple weeks ago JV and Freshman were home so I had to go to both), and the Varsity game on Friday nights. I get home from practice at different times each day, Freshman games I get home around 5 or 6, which is about the time I get home from practice. Varsity games are a different story!!! The away games I don't get home till around 11 or 12 depending on how far away the game is, I went to a game a couple weeks ago that was 4 hours away! We left school at 11 in the morning and had a couple of rest stops on the way, then we hit the road at 11 for about a mile to Wendy's for the boys to get food. We didn't get home 'till 3 in the morning!! (we only had one rest stop on the way home) Thank heavens for the charter bus! :)

This last game was home, however being in Oregon it was pouring down rain. As a result I've gotten a little sick.... and all the games in this month will more than likely be rainy. This week Varstiy is playing Home on Thursday (Freshman(home :) yay!)/JV(away) on Wednesday) because we only have a 3 day week. Then next week we have a game in Newburg :( they don't have a turf field and their field is HORRIBLE!!! It will be very muddy! Then the next week we have our homecoming game, then the next week is our last game in Canby(on Haloween). So I have a very busy schedule. I will also very soon be working on our second fall play, then our spring musical, I'm in a couple of clubs, I'll be managing Track and Field, and I need to get to work on all the scholarship and college apps, and senior project! So I am a very busy person and if you don't hear from me for a while that is why! :)

2nd First Day

All right so yesterday I got to go to my Day 2 classes. My first class was English 12. I like the teacher so far and I am actually looking forward to that class (except for the paper and senior project and senior speech).
My second class was Weight Training. It's the 3rd time I've taken that class. I keep taking it because it's fun and he uses a program that shows us our improvement and we kind of compete with other people too so it gets us motivated. Also he's constantly walking around helping you with your technic and visiting and motivating. He's awesome! He is also the head football coach at my school and I got to know him pretty well last year. His wife is the Drama teacher and since I work on the plays I also know her pretty well. And I also know their daughter, :) I don't talk to their son because he's a jerk, but I kind of know his whole family and it's kind of funny!
My 3rd class was Government, and that class is going to be so easy! I'm really excited because it's going to be a fun class, the teacher seems nice and I've heard a lot of good things about him, also I have a lot of friends in that class.
Then I have early realease. This time I just hung out with friends who didn't have class either and couldn't leave. It was fun I also got my pass so that if I do leave the school like I'm supposed to I can leave with no problems. This time my friends and I got talked to a couple times by the administrators telling us to get off campus, so we just went to places of the school that they wouldn't be for a while and kept moveing to stay away. :)
Then I came home and got ready to go to the football game! It was away and against Rex Putnam, it wasn't at their high school though, it was at their middle school. The middle school used to be a high school and the field is terf so they always use that school. I went with my friend Mandy, and I looked up the directions on Map Quest. I'm never using Map Quest again because it took us to a residential area with no school. So we ended up at a Fred Meyer and went into customer service for directions, we weren't too far off, but enough to get lost because it was in the Portland area and it's very confusing! We got to the game by the 2nd quarter. We won the game!!! We totally creamed them! It was a really exciting and fun game! We ended up getting home just fine, Map Quest wanted to take us the long way, but Mandy knew a faster way so we got home with no problems! :)

SCHOOL!!!

I started school and seminary today!!! I'm so happy that it's started! This year I have my license and mom and dad are letting me use the car to take to seminary and school. :) So this morning Jackie and I went to seminary at our church building. My seminary teacher won't be here till Monday so for today and tomorrow my class is combined with the Juniors. It was fun!
Then I we headed off to school. It was great seeing all the friends that I hadn't seen all summer! For those of you who don't know my high school is on block schedule. I really like that because we have more time in each class, so more time to learn and do homework with your teacher there to help! Today I had Algebra 2, Economics, Medical Terminology, and Early Release. Algebra was ok, it was mostly introducing ourselves to our teacher. My teacher seems to be pretty cool, but I've never heard anything about his teaching just that he's really cute (yeah he's younger and the majority of the girls at school are drooling over him.... honestly he's not that good looking).
For Economics I have the same teacher that I had last year for 20th Century. I'm really excited because he's a really good teacher and makes it fun. Like today we got to play with play dough and other things to make an invention that we think would help our economy. It was fun and something that go us thinking.
Medical Terminology will be a very hard class. The teacher is nice and he's a really good teacher. I had him last year for Anatomy and Physiology. We also have new text books for that class and they're really nice! I'm excited for that class also.
For Early Release I'm supposed to go home... however Jackie doesn't want to ride the bus so I stick around. Today I hung out in one of my old Health teachers rooms, and that's where I'll be for all of my Day 1's. She's really fun and I love talking to her. So while I'm in her class I study and if she ever needs help I will be her TA for that class too.
Tomorrow is like another first day of school because I have 4 different classes. I will have English 12, Weight Training, Government, and Early Release. I'm really excited!

Happy Birthday Mom!!

Today is my mom's birthday!! She didn't get to do anything fun. :( We all worked today and then tonight she has to go to the Young Women's Activity. She decided that she wanted chocolate chip cookies, so while mom, dad, and I were working Jackie and Emma made her the cookies. I love you mom, and I'm sorry that your birthday wasn't the funnest and that you had to work, hopefully tonight you'll have more fun, or get to do something later (like you did on your anniversary).

Cannon Beach

Saturday was REALLY HOT, so my friend Mandy and I decided to go to the coast, and we met a wall of traffic! :( We ended up going to Cannon Beach, because the majority of the cars were not going that way. :) However when we got there, there was no parking spaces open. :( Here are some pictures of all the cars and people.

Here's a picture of Mandy as we're looking at all of the cars and trying to find a spot to park.
Some people were even breaking the rules to get a place to park.
They parked on such a narrow road in front of the "NO PARKING TOW AWAY" zone that I guess they thought they were safe. Who knows.
We finally found a spot, and three elderly people were walking past us as we were trying to parallel park Mandy's truck, and they helped us! We were really greatful cause she has never parallel parked her truck before. :( Then we finally got there!!!
And I've never seen it so crowded!
The weather was really nice, but the water was so cold it hurt, so we just walked around and layed in the sand! It was really nice!

Youth Conference

Friday and Saturday I went to Youth Conference!! It was a lot of fun, even though it was close to home. We had it at Pacific University. It's a really nice campus, and we went all over the campus for classes, meals, and activities. We also went all over Forest Grove for our service projects.

The first day we started at 1:00, and met at the new stadium. It was really nice, but really hot and they had us all running around for a couple of hours playing games. Sadly I had to stop playing the games to find the First Aid room. :( I wasn't too surprised when I was the first one to have to get a band aide! Red Rover is a dangerous game :). Then after the games we started our classes (mine was on modesty and feeling the spirit) then we had dinner and a fireside, then went home. I had a lot of fun!

We went back to the campus at 8:40 on Saturday and we started with a devotional, then we went to do service. Some groups stayed at the campus to do quilts and hats for premature babies, another group went to the Beehive Center (a retirement home) and sang to the elderly, Jackie's group went to Harvey Clark Elementary School to clean up garbage, and my group went to the Tom McCall Upper Elementary Schools (there's two of them) to clean up the grounds, forestry area, and parking lots (all together they said around 3 acres of land). My job was actually easier than Jackie's. Tom McCall is better taken care of than Harvey Clark. Then we went back to the campus for lunch, then on to our other 2 classes (mine were act and not be acted upon and resisting peer pressure) after our second class we had a 10 minute break then had a testimony meeting with our group. Then we went home from 4-7 to get ready for the dance. Jackie and I went home to change and then went to a friends house for pizza and to hang out till 7. Then we went to the dance from 7-10. The dance was SO FUN!! It was an outside dance at the stadium. I thought with the breeze that it would have been a lot cooler than it was, but by the end of the dance my friends and I were all sweating and tired!! This was probably one of the funner dances that I had been to. Sorry that I didn't take any pictures!

The picture above is one I found on the Internet. :) I think that it's actually one of the buildings that I went into for a class.

Midnight Showing

I went to the midnight showing of "The Dark Knight" with some of my friends. So now I'm going to give you all a little movie review! :) "The Dark Knight was REALLY good! I was kind of worried it wouldn't be that good because it's a sequel..... and normally sequels to movies are HORRIBLE! However "The Dark Knight" is totally worth seeing! It had a lot of action, and humor, and so I was jumping and laughing throughout the movie.... kind of an odd combo! :) The movie was good... oh here's a heads up... don't stay after the credits, there isn't a short little clip at the end. We stayed through the really long credits, nothing plays after the movie. Another little FYI, this is not a movie for little kids! The Joker was really, really freaky! Also Harvey Dent has something happen to him... and he gets kind of deformed, and that is kind of freaky looking too, something little kids will have nightmares about! This movie is worth seeing in theatres!

Beach Fun

Hi everyone! So, yesterday I went to the coast with my friends and we had a BLAST!! However, I got really burned! :( I was the only white person that went. All of my friends that went to the coast are hispanic and we had been talking about my whiteness. :) One of my friends Louis told me "No you're not white, you're pale!" That set us all laughing! Then he saw this picture of my arm, started laughing and said "Never mind, I take back what I said... SHE'S SO WHITE!" lol We had a ton of fun! We started off in Seaside. The same place I went for my Birthday. We had a lot of fun window shopping! When you go to Seaside you have to go to the hat store. It's so much fun! Karen, Me, and Noelia are posing with our food below! :)
Louis and Alex went with us and I had a lot of fun getting to know them. They are both from the Spanish Branch in our Stake. Both are also returned missionaries. I felt very unexotic with them! :) Louis is from El Salvador and Alex is from Venezuela, and then Karen and Noelia are from Nicaragua! Me.... well I'm from the U.S. :) Seaside was too crowded.. so we decided to go to Cannon Beach. There's good 'ol Haystack Rock!
Karen and Noelia.
Noelia and Louis enjoying the COLD water! They were all freezing when they finally came out of the water so we played in the sand to warm up!
The coast was a lot of fun! We got home an hour before mutual... then I spent the night at Karen and Noelia's house.
