Yay for christmas!!

Christmas has been great so far! :) yesterday I worked from 10-5 and then I came over to my aunt Heidi and uncle Brians house for dinner and to stay the night (grandma and grandpa are in Cedar). The dinner as great! aunt heidi also made us all pajamas, so I now have two really cute new pajama bottoms. The kids didn't wake up until 8 this morning, which really surprised me.
Christmas was very different, it didn't even really feel like Christmas until this morning! my aunt had my stocking stuffed with some goodies, and then from my aunt and uncle I got some Scentsy scents, body spray and a hat in a really cute bag. Then from my grandma and grandpa Kinsman I got a scarf and slippers. From aunt Judy and uncle Marc I got a scarf, gloves, and the movie Julie & Julia, can't wait to watch it! From a girl at work I got The Princess Bride, and form my friend Ashlee I got sheet music for The Fray's Syndicate CD. From my parents I got this great new laptop!!! :D I thought it was some kind of joke when I saw the box, there was no way I was getting a laptop! I'm still way excited to have it! just need to figure a couple of extra things out, like my mouse pad sensitivity, and how to work the camera (or how to get to it) on the screen so I can use it. and from Jackie I got a mouse for my new laptop! :)
It's been a great Christmas so far, and later I think I'm going to be going over to Uncle Doug and Aunt Jeri's when Heidi and Brian go to Brians moms for a family get together, so that will be lots of fun! :)

Because I haven't blogged for a while.

Well nothing has really been going on lately. Getting ready to go camping :), and packing to move :(, and talking my mom into letting me go to Utah to visit with her. I'm also looking for a job. So that's all that's been happening, nothing too exciting, and no new pictures. Hopefully I'll have more to talk about SOON. :/

O Savior, stay this night with me...

Today was a very difficult day. I found out right after I got to the church, just before sacrament meeting, that my friend Grant has passed away last night. He and a friend had both died in a one car accident. I later found out that the friend with Grant, was a friend of mine also, Gabe. Grant was driving and for whatever reason lost control of the car. They ran into a tree, and rolled. Gabe flew out of the car, and Grant was trapped inside. Both died instantly. It's been really hard for me to cope today. Especially with all the testimony's of the Plan of Salvation and Eternal Families. I bore my testimony also. I'm so happy that I know that this life isn't the end and that I'll be able to see them both again. I forgot at first when I had just found out about Grant and didn't know the other person was Gabe. But then a lady I am close to in the ward found me and told me that Grant had been preparing to go on a mission, and that he had just gotten his call. I needed to hear that and be reminded that I will see them both again. It's so shocking. I saw Grant on Sunday last week and never thought anything like this could happen, then when I found out about Grant I planned on calling Gabe later to see how he was taking it. My plans changed however as you have read. Grant graduated last year, but was still very close, and Gabe was supposed to graduate on the same day as me, different school. It's really hard for all who knew them to swallow that fact that they are no longer with us.
The closing son in Sacrament Meeting today really touched me, I could hardly get a sound out it effected me so much. I'll share it with you now. The hymn was Abide with Me; 'Tis Eventide.

Abide with me; 'tis eventide. The day is past and gone;
The shadows of the evening fall; The night is coming on.
Within my heart a welcome guest, Within my home abide.
O Savior, stay this night with me; Behold, 'tis eventide.
O Savior, stay this night with me; Behold, 'tis eventide.

Abide with me; 'tis eventide. Thy walk today with me
Has made my heart within me burn, As I communed with thee.
Thy earnest words have filled my soul And kept me near thy side.
O Savior, stay this night with me; Behold, 'tis eventide.
O Savior, stay this night with me; Behold, 'tis eventide.

Abide with me; 'tis eventide, And lone will be the night
If I cannot commune with thee Nor find in thee my light.
The darkness of the world, I fear, Would in my home abide.
O Savior, stay this night with me; Behold, 'tis eventide.
O Savior, stay this night with me; Behold, 'tis eventide.

This song, really, touched me. I was chocking up all through it. A man in my ward has a great voice, and he sang it with so much emotion and with so much force, the organist started following his slow tempo of the song, which made it just that much more amazing. I'm so thankful for the knowledge I have. Please everyone keep Grant Knighton and Gabe Darrah (pronounced Dare-uh)'s families in your prayer's.

Seminary is OVER!!! :D

Seminary is finally over!!! I'm so excited!! Our graduation is this Sunday... and here are some pictures of all the seniors! (in the FG building... there will be a couple of others from some other buildings graduating in the same ceremony...) My seminary teacher wanted to get pictures of us before we left so that she can document it along with other senior pictures of past classes. Plus she gave us all copies of the pics!
2 pictures are of us goofing off. :)

2 "formal" pictures.
Sadly there are 2 girls that aren't graduating with us (they aren't pictured, one stopped coming to seminary, the other got pregnant last year and can't come). It's really sad! We went through the majority of the school years with them, but they both made choices so they won't be graduating seminary. :(
I am so excited to be graduating finally! School's graduation is June 9th, so more pictures are to follow. :)

Swine Flu

Well there have been school closures all over Oregon. And not just K-12 either. Right now Western Oregon University is closed.

Now my school district announced today that it is closed Monday and Tuesday. If the kid who has Swine Flu has it for sure, 100%, it could be all week. I'm so excited that I have no school!!! :) It's kind of a bitter sweet feeling though. Whoever it is that got the flu, best of wishes!

It is kind of funny though that it's been so dramatized.... Way more people die of the actual regular flu a year.. here's a link to an article that made me laugh... I don't know maybe I have a sick sense of humor... but this is just another flu... and it's sad yes... but way over exaggerated!!

here's the link....

Prom

Well Prom has come and gone... and I've been really lazy in posting about it. :/ So here are some pics and they aren't in any particular order... the events happened in random order. :)

The whole group... I posted doubles of both because I couldn't decide which ones looked better... but this is the crew!

More group pics and again they're doubles. Me, Ryley(my date), Kaitlin, Jordan, Dana, and John.

Me getting pics taken before Ryley showed up.
Me again.
The corsage my parents got me. :) I loved it!
Pinning on Ryley's boutonniere. haha I think I was looking at his mom's camera and he was looking at mine! :) that's funny!
Trying really hard not to stab him.
hahaha ok this one just made me laugh! Uncle Sid was really getting into the song!
We were waiting for John and the group to show up, and it was boring so we ended up playing Guitar Hero World Tour. :)

We had a lot of fun! We ate at Bugatti's and then headed to PSU for prom. :) It was set up really nice and if we got too hot there was a balcony that they lined with candles (haha they didn't have a real flame though. They were little battery opperated candles but looked really nice!). Then we left the dance at about 11 and our group plus some decided to get dessert at Sherie's. I didn't get home 'till about 2 in the morning! It was a lot of fun! However my feet were killing me for 2 day's afterwards!

(well actually everyone did but me) So I'm going to prom... (and this is a picture of the rose he gave me) now I just need to find a dress.

Valkyrie

I went to see Valkyrie with my mom today after I went canning with her. It is a really good movie. It's based on a true story about the last plot to kill Hitler, and boy were they ever close! If they had gotten all the timing right on their plan they would have been able to overthrow him.. however some people stalled a little in doing their jobs. It was really good! It had a sad ending, but it was done very well and I would see it again! So there's my little movie review. (oh and my picture is too big... so to see it in full just click on it.)

Back on Schedule

I'm loving being back at school and on a routine and having a day full of something to do! I've been seeing a lot of my friends.. doing homework... and waiting for the musical chaos to start. :) The Semester is almost over so I will have almost all new classes. Weight Training, Economics, and Governments are all only semester classes... so I'm going to have to get with my councelor to fill in some classes (he pointed out to me at the beginning of the year that I'll have empty spots in my schedule that I'll need to fill at the end of the semester). So I'm just lovin' life right now!

New Year!!

So my New Years Eve was pretty fun! We went ice skating with a bunch of friends... and I only fell once!! Pretty good for my first time! Then we went to eat out at Red Robins with my family and two friends.... Emma's friend Rebecca... and Karen. Then we dropped Karen off at home and picked up Tayler from his friends house.. and Jackie and I got the car and headed down to Karen's house to wait until we could go up to the Matiaco's house. When we got to the Matiaco's house some of the people there decided to go to the church to shoot nerf guns! It was a lot of fun... and we also played some basketball. Then we went back to the Matiaco's and watched a movie... then headed down to Karens house so she wouldn't get in trouble with her parents and were there to see some fireworks set off in the neighborhood. (some of them were the illegal kind... so they were really cool fireworks! :) not the screamers and such). So my night... day was pretty great!
